Day 18: At our House

We are going to leave the housework behind and go to the park.

The weather man has said that the rest of the week will bring showers, rain and building up to a storm on Sunday.

Humm, So much for Queensland being where Australia Shines...

Yesterday, the wind calmed down and we went for a little drive.

We explored a little section of Mt Coot-tha and will have to head back up there soon.

Where else should we be exploring?  If you are in Brisbane we would love to know where to go* and what to see.  We have taken a while to feel settled in this town and I think that if I just give it a chance I might actually fall in love with this city - this little spot is seriously a stones throw from our place - how could we have been here for almost a year and only just find it now.

What are you up to today. Go and check out Lou's for what others are doing.

For the rest of the week we will be inside playing games and creating things I think.  If you have some great inside activities or craft ideas or you have a blog post you would like to share please let me know.  I will do a big post on Friday of Children's Wet Day Activities. I think that it may be a wet Summer here where "Australia Shines'

* shopping tips and places are also welcome:)

  1. Hey Kylie, I'm in love with your kookaburra photo! Or is it a kingfisher? Looks like you have found an amazing new place to visit. I'm interested to see you are new to Brisbane, I'm sure it will be a fantastic place to live. Yay for leaving the housework behind! Hope you have a great Monday xo

  8. It looks like a lovely family outing on the weekend. Hope you had a fun day out in the sunshine today as well. Our weather in Melbourne is all over the place.
I have some kids craft ideas on my blog. Not sure if I will have any new ones this week. I love the clear contact collages - part of this post - good for lots of ages. http://buttonsbyloulou.blogspot.com/2010/08/childrens-craft-no-fuss-crafts.html

  9. Mt Cootha is a lovely spot to go and visit and it looks like you had fun exploring. Another lovely spot to visit is Wynnum foreshore. There is a little beach, a playground and lots of walking paths. If you want to drive a bit further then I would recommend Wellington Point. When the tide is out you can walk over to a little island. There isn't much over at the island but the walk across is fun. I hope you have fun doing some more exploring. :)
