I have been busy getting a few things off of the needles so they manage some wear before the weather warms up (or the kids grow out of them before next year)
Amelia asked for a new beanie. "A pretty one please Mum, the same pattern as my school beanie" How could I say no to a request asked so beautifully.
Knitted in the yarn that I dyed at Tangled Yarns with Kelly during a 'Dye another Day' Dying course.
She is happy with it and I am over the moon with how it knitted up. I'm off to check out what the rest of the creative community are up to.
Pattern: Queenie - by Woolly Warmhead
Yarn: 8ply Hand dyed Superwash
Ravelled

New Shoes...
The little Miss starts Prep next week. She has been counting down every day this week, fingers crossed that the enthusiasm continues.
She has been wearing them around the house for a few hours each day to get used to wearing them (and to break them in a little)
My next job is to work out what to feed her. What do you pack in your children's lunch boxes. Any help will be appreciated and I will compile a list in a week or two of recipes and ideas. Oh and the school has a rubbish free policy - looks like I am going to be busy in the kitchen.
Last week we gave Cathie's Back to Kinder Healthy Slice a go. I was running out of both peanut butter and honey so it did not stick as well as it should have. That did not seem to matter though - it was devoured in a minute (we had friends over and I think the Mum's ate just as much as the kids)
Thanks Cathie for the use of the photo - I did not have time to get one:)

Dye Another Day...
My creative space actually occured almost a week ago.
But I am certain that you will not mind.
I spent the day at Tangled Yarns turning wool into something special and playing with colour.

We learnt two methods (both of which were fun) and came home with two skiens of wet spaghettti.
Reskiened and WOW.
What a beautiful back drop.
I think that I might become addicted to this, shhhh, Don't tell Tim.
My skeins are the ones on the right of both photos. Liz owns the other two.
For more creative spaces - grab yourself a coffee and head over to kootoyoo

What NOT TO DO...
... when dying wool!
I decided to try my hand at dying some wool... Take my advise - when it says 'wear gloves' it might be an idea to actually put them on. Lucky for me it was only food dye and not an acid dye.
I used this great tutorial. And this is how it turned out. I have 50grams of 4ply and it will become the contrast stripe in a jumper for the little man!
