She has been wearing them around the house for a few hours each day to get used to wearing them (and to break them in a little)
My next job is to work out what to feed her. What do you pack in your children's lunch boxes. Any help will be appreciated and I will compile a list in a week or two of recipes and ideas. Oh and the school has a rubbish free policy - looks like I am going to be busy in the kitchen.
Last week we gave Cathie's Back to Kinder Healthy Slice a go. I was running out of both peanut butter and honey so it did not stick as well as it should have. That did not seem to matter though - it was devoured in a minute (we had friends over and I think the Mum's ate just as much as the kids)
Thanks Cathie for the use of the photo - I did not have time to get one:)
Kootoyoo is back playing My Creative Space today, I have been doing a bit here and there. Here is a sneak at what I have been working on this week.

That looks good. I will watch your healthy snacks with interest as I never seem to have enough ideas on that front.
ReplyDeleteHi kylie
ReplyDeleteI am in the same situation - my first child is off th chool in 2 weeks. She eats schnitzel and vegiemite sandwhiches and that is all! So I will reading your followers comments on that issue. We also have a no-junk policy but we don't have that much here so it should be OK.
I hope my DD's feet don;t grow too fast - her school shoes cost a small fortune! Footwear is one area that I spend good money on though, especially for shoes they wear every day.
Hope you are all well.
cherri.
What a good Mumma you are buying velcro shoes!! I think I'd scoff that slice down too :) LOving the colour of the new yarn..wonder what you're up to :) x x
ReplyDeleteThat wool looks so super-fine...you must be going to make something very delicate!!
ReplyDeleteAs for rubbish-free lunches, you need one of those tupperware lunch boxes (the rectanular ones) that you don't even need to wrap the sandwiches. Nic over at planning with kids did a post a while ago on this exact topic. Head over and have a look:

thanks for visiting me today :-)

good idea about the shoes! I must get her to do that too.
ReplyDeletewe also have a rubbish free lunch box policy so we packed a lunchbox this week when we went to ikea & had vegemite sandwich, carrot sticks & cheese. not very adventurous but I do have a fussy eater.
goodluck with it all Kylie, looking forward to your list.

Zoe is a goof when it comes to what she likes to eat. Of course peanut butter is a staple, but she likes hard boiled eggs, hummus and crackers, olives, string cheese, carrot sticks, make your own lunchable is a hit...do you have those? Crackers small slices of lunch ,meat, and cut up cheese slices.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Hope your husband is home in time to see her off on her first day. I imagine an exciting time for her, and just a pang of sadness at leaving behind her early childhood for you.
ReplyDeleteThe meusli bars look great - I will have to try that one for my little tackers! Austy starts reception next week too, so I will be joining in on the "becoming a school mum" journey with you!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to seeing what you do with that yarn. It looks gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the info you've posted on flood relief stuff - it's helpful to be able to find out about it all so easily!
xx
Oh wow, this will be me next year ... having to think about lunch boxes and school shoes ... where does time go? Yummy looking slice x
