"If you're going to go all crazy...

be sure to wear some chickens in your hair".

Six of them to be exact.  Yesterday was free dress and crazy hair day at school to raise funds for The Worlds Greatest Shave.  This is how Amelia went off to school and would you believe that all six Chickens stayed in there all day (it took some hairspray and a headache to achieve)

The World Greatest Shave is something that I am not new in supporting.  My parents shaved their heads in 2003 in support of my Uncle who beat the odds of Leukaemia.

This year, the small community in which we live has one of its own suffering.  Little Elizabeth has acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.  This is the driving force behind her Mum and a few others shaving off their locks yesterday.

You can not help but feel lucky to be involved and live in such a supportive and loving community, Sandra set out to raise $3000 and she would shave.  Well she blew that target out of the water within a week and the team ended up raising over $13,000.

Over the past few months we (as a community) have done everything from shaking it to the wiggles inspired Zumbathon, a night of fun at a Mega Party, Crazy hair day at school and the grand finale of a mini fete yesterday and the SHAVE. What a great community to be a part of.

In blog world there is also a very special girl suffering her own battle and fight.  If you would like to donate please do, Sandra's page can be found here and team's page here.

I've been knitting...

...please don't fall off your chair.  It is almost the end of March and this is the first knitted thing off of the needles for 2012.

I finished the little Milo vest last week, wrapped it up and gifted it to a friend at her baby shower.  I let everyone ohh and ahh over it and then I asked for it back.

Please tell me I am not the only crafter that has done this:)  I had not blocked it and I want to add a little paw embellishment (the family has just bought the most adorable chocolate Labrador)

I am going to sit tonight and pop on the finishing touches.

In other knitting news I have misplaced my knitting bag with the 'for me knit' enclosed.  If you find it, please send it home.  For more crafty spaces around the globe, grab a cuppa and enjoy.

My little kitten helper...

He is learning slowly, that the wool is not for him.

I however pulled out the swift the other night and all the rules of the house (not touching my wool or being on the table) were forgotten when he saw a spinning thing and lovely yarn on the swift.
Lesson learnt, he is going to have to be locked away on swifting days.

Hope that you all have a great weekend.  We have a busy family weekend planned.

My Creative Space...

It has been very quiet around here.  Sorry about that Blogging friends.

I have been knitting.  Slowly getting there and as the weather starts to cool down I am starting to wish that it was infact finished and I was able to wear it sooner rather then later.  The number of knits on the needles are also growing and that is a sure sign around these parts that winter is on it's way.

For more creative spaces and maybe a few finished things, grab yourself a cuppa and check out Our Creative Spaces.
