The little miss in the house has lost her first tooth.
She was very excited and proud that she has lost her very first tooth. (most of her friends lost a headful each last year so she has been waiting patiently for the day to come)
It's a shame I didn't get those family photos done before the gummy grins.

{Sunday Snippets}
A busy weekend this weekend. I think that we try to cram too much in (but then who doesn't) Today we spent it together at the local farming expo
Enjoying a can of lemonade
Trying out the tractors for size
Lego Love Boat
and these cuties. I wanted to go home with the baby Alpaca under my arm.

My Creative Garden Space...
There is not alot on the crafting front here. Well there is but it is rather slow going. The change in the weather is playing havoc on my hands and they are not liking the purling of this knit.
I have been in the garden. Trying to turn a pile of bricks into a herb spiral. I am getting there. So far this project has only cost me the soil, straw and the herbs.
Looking forward to getting it finished so I can get the herbs in.
The inspiration for the spiral garden comes from The Nature Learning Centre Blog
Thinking that I might have to cast on something in the round just so I have something to knit when the hands won't let me purl. For more creativity of the yarn, thread and material kind, pop over here

Kinder...
This little man began four year old kinder last week.
He was excited to go. He is really missing his little friends from Brisbane and I am hoping that through this he will start to feel a little more settled.
The bag is almost as big as him. But right or wrong he was having a bag like his sister.

A new routine...
With school going back and the sun still high in the sky we have implemented a new bedtime routine. After the normal brushing of the teeth, we have always read to the kids. This will not change as I feel that it is important for the kids to be read to.
However, now after we read to them they are now allowed to read to themselves. We have set up lamps in the room and allow them to choose their own story that they would like to read.
Do you like Baden's pile beside his bed. The one who is still up to reading the pictures and making up his own story is the one with more books.
It seems to be working and they are excited to go to bed even with the sun still up.

Sunday Snippets

{sunday snippets}: a collection of photos from your week. No need for words. Let the pictures tell your story.
All photos taken on my iPhone using the instagram app. I am a little bit addicted to it at the moment and I really have to start pulling out my DSLR. If you are into Instagram I am mealyandi over their too. These are also my photos for the Fat Mum Slim's Feb Photo-a-day challenge.

Day One, Year One
Our little girl proudly went off to school yesterday.
She was so excited she almost skipped the entire way (mind you it is a short 8 house skip away)
The highlight of the day was the 'trip' around the school and apparently the boys here are noisier then at her old school (what can I say but country boys) her delicate ears will get used to it.
Oh and I forgot to share this super cute photo of her. She went into reading glasses just before Christmas for reading and writing. It took two optometrist appointments at different places for someone to actually check her eyes properly. She has exactly the same eyes and pupils as her mother (poor love) and said "WOW" when she put them on for the first time (it had me in tears) She chose the frames herself (my girl loves a little bling - but if it makes her wear them I didn't really care what they looked like)

Today...
is our last day of school holidays.
Am I ready? No, not at all. You would think that after 9 weeks of holidays, packing, unpacking and setting up a house I would be ready for Amelia to go back to school.
I am so far from that it is not funny. I fell very unorganised and honestly a little in a flap. How on earth am I going to get them both into bed so they get enough hours of sleep and are alert and ready to learn at school.
Tomorrow is fly by my pants day. We will see how we go. Her uniform is ready and ironed. Lunch boxes have been found and the water bottle is already filled. Thank goodness we have a weekend to follow (maybe they do that on purpose)
Today we went into town and enjoyed a milkshake at a little coffee shop in town.
On the way home we spotted the feathered locals.
In an attempt to be organised (starting next week) I have printed off the weekly planner from The Organised Housewife
Have you got this year all organised? Please share your tips if you do. If you don't, then we can fumble through 2012 together.
