yesterday...

we rested...

ironed (but not clothes)...

ate cake...

painted toes...

enjoyed the sun on our backs...

and I knitted...

as I watched the contents of the house make it's way into the backyard...

and finished up with a nice warm bath.
Just what the Dr ordered (ontop of the mountain of drugs that we are taking at different times of the day.  I almost need an alarm and personal assistant to keep on top of who needs what and when)

Another quiet day here today.  Shame there is still a few weeks left till the end of term.  I could get use to days like these.

Time to catch up...

Still here.  Crafting is happening as are the daily happenings around the house.

Kate did a Catch Up post, so I thought that I would do something similar (thanks Kate for the idea)

Frogging: this cute little number and recast on tonight (rib is a pain in the ribs to pick up)

Laughing: at this little man.  I told him to hop in the shower and I would wash his hair.  This is what I found.  He though he was hilarious.
Attending: school to see this little miss rock her air guitar with confidence.

Licking: the spoon in the kitchen

Cooking:  up a double batch of Pasta Sauce in the slow cooker

Turning: 4 kgs of these into Rosella Jam

Finishing and photographing knits (you will have to wait for the full reveal when I get around to blogging it)

Attempting to decide what skirt pattern to use to turn my Prints Charming fabrics into a skirt for this Skirt along.

WOW - I have been busy - no wonder there has been no time for blogging

A Change in Plans...

We descided to stay at home on the weekend after the weather man predicted hot temps and thunderstorms.

I am glad that we did. We have two little ones who have picked up the vomity bug that is getting around.

We still managed to camp out, on the lounge room floor, instead of in the tent under the stairs and watched DVD's and ABC2 (how good is that channel when you need it) sipping on cool water and lemonade and eating sliced apples.

They are slowly on the mend.  Amelia had a home day today to get over it and has been enjoying doing the next letter in her Reading Eggs.  If you have little ones check it out.  It is a fantastic program run in lots of lower primary schools and helps in the fundamentals of reading and phonics. It is an initiative of ABC and is available on trial for a 6 week period.  We will be purchasing it when the trail is up, as even Baden is enjoying it.

Bubble Fun

During a break in the rain today we headed out to the park.

I grabbed the bubble wands on the way out the door.

The kids had fun.

One little boy got a taste of the bubbles and then gave the ducks a drink, opps.

Thanks Santa, a bottle of bubbles to refill them has been added to the shopping list. The wands are $1 from Big W, if you were interested, but I wouldn't know.
All photos were taken with my new 50mm lens.

At My House...

we have been out in search of lollies.  I have been inspired by Corrie's gingerbread house and I need one too.  Thinking that if it turns out it will be my contribution to the Kindergarten Raffle, so we are heading down to IKEA tomorrow to grab a Gingerbread House Kit (one less thing to mess up)

...at my house , I have been playing yarn chicken - I still have the front button bands to do on the forth Crazy Aunt knit and I only have 9grams (Crazy Aunt indeed)

...at my house, the kids have sent off their Kids Christmas Swap packages...

...at my house, we have placed little lights out the front.  Amelia was starting to get a little concerned that Santa will not be able to find us at Christmas time when we are camping, these will light up the way for Santa (Note to Self:  dont forget to pack them in the camper trailer or I will be up for another $10)

...at my house, I have booked myself into a photography course.  Just a one day one to learn what all of the buttons are for on my new camera. Although, this little man is over being a model for Mumma.

...at my house ...dont try this at your house...
...I thought that I would be clever and make some little Christmas Tree Crayons - humm - When the packet says 'ICE CUBE TREES'   That may have been warning enough - but NO!

At My House

November - how on earth did that sneak up on us.  Just a year ago I was all packed up and on the road.

So a year on - looking back I now feel so slack that I have done nothing to the yard or garden.  We have such a tiny yarn compared to previous postings and the tree's were already established so the joy of saving every drop of water and nurturing was not there.  And after 7 moves in 7 years the garden was the last thing on my mind.

Amelia mentioned just the other day that she missed having her Vegetable Garden.  I planted out herbs in the garden between the other plants and trees within the first week of being here.  They are doing well, but it is nothing like what we had in the garden last year.

Today, we enjoyed our first Strawberry.  Cut up and shared between the three of us, I realised the joy that the kids get out of being part of a garden and enjoying the product of our hard work.

So, after pulling out some old pots and clearing out the spiders we headed to Bunnings and made it home in time to plant out 6 more strawberry plants, a passionfruit and a tomato plant.

Fingers crossed I dont kill the things in pots - I am not a huge pot gardener - things live here if they are in the ground and sort of take care of themselves with a little water provided my the kids, the skies and myself on odd occasion.

I am going to have a break for a day or two.  I am going to get the Kids Christmas Swap organised and will be back on Wednesday or Thursday with the details.  If you are handy on the computer and know such things as making a snazzy little button I would love to hear from you.

I also have somthing up my sleeve for Movember.  Fingers crossed I have enough hours in the days.

Day #20: Fun

Fun with a box and a few paints.

The last of the packing boxes have been unpacked (yes it has taken me almost a year!)

With impending rain clouds and showers not too far away the kids ran outside to decorate the box.

I think the fun part was painting your fingers.
...and then there was the washing of the hands!
Watch this box.  I am looking forward to what it becomes in the imagination of the two of them in the coming days.
