My Creative Space...

It has been very quiet around here.  Sorry about that Blogging friends.

I have been knitting.  Slowly getting there and as the weather starts to cool down I am starting to wish that it was infact finished and I was able to wear it sooner rather then later.  The number of knits on the needles are also growing and that is a sure sign around these parts that winter is on it's way.

For more creative spaces and maybe a few finished things, grab yourself a cuppa and check out Our Creative Spaces.

{Things I'm Loving} Imagination

Loving the imagination of this little man this week.

We have spent the week at home, enjoying each others company (cough cough).  It was lovely to just spend some one-on-one time together (on the couch) and spend time getting well.

This little man doesn't really require any toys. He makes his own fun.
May I introduce you to

Fireman Sam (complete with a toilet brush as his hose, nice)

Sportacus

Octonauts, to you launch bay

and Bob, cleaning the shower
and the new app on my phone.

Happiness...{this moment}

 is a girl with cupcakes.

I fail with this no word, one photo thing.
The girl took in cupcakes this week to share with her friends at school.
I also nailed the icing - thanks heaps Lesley for your help and recipe.

loving...

 time and patience...
not worrying about anyone else or what was going on around her.  One foot infront of the other. Shuffle, Shuffle, Shuffle.

 confidence...
Round and Round and Round she went until she gained the confidence to head out on her own. watching this little girl get up the courage and head out with all of the others (many of whom were a lot bigger than her)

 friendship...
it makes my heart sing to see this little girl make such lovely friends  (picture was snapped just moments before they both fell on their bottoms - two five year old's on skates helping each other, not really certain how much help they were to each other)

and to get back up again when she came crashing down.  A few hours of one on one time with this little girl, while a friend watched Baden (thanks Dee)

and for the hugs that I received when we returned.

All you need in knitting...

... is a girlfriend to get you started"  Julia Roberts 2011

That girl was me yesterday.  I taught five eager beaver students (aka as the Posie bunch) how to knit and crochet there little hearts away.

We had so much fun.  Including this little man who spent the day tangling and knotting up the balls.  After seeing how he could work his magic in a matter of seconds with this ball, I quickly put the lovely soft alpaca that Jennie had bought up out of his reach (they are on the microwave Jennie.)

They did so well, Some ended there crocheting skills at chain and were happy with a bracelet.  But Jennie now has the skills to show and help them at home (which was her main aim, and maybe a little couch crafting time)  Her darling husband popped home for lunch and asked "when will you be as fast as Kylie?"  Give her time I say (or watch out if the five of them put there heads together!)  Looking forward to our next holiday session.  Knitting in the round and hexagons and flowers here we come!

More photos of the finished products over at Jennie's. Be certain to pop into Our Creative Spaces and see what other crafty happenings have been happening.

And if you are a fan of Julia Roberts (and even if you aren't)  Have a look at this practical joke that Joker Tom Hanks played on Co Star and Friend on her love of knitting.

Hello...

Pretty Flower...

Are you the one giving me hay fever at the moment?

The bugs...

and the bees seem to like you.

This week I am grateful for tissues with aloe vera, telfast and eucalyptus balls and to have a husband home and children that allowed me to have a sleep in on the first day of the holidays.

Hope that you are all having a great weekend.  Joining in with Maxabella.

My Creative Space = more Red...

There appears to be alot of red in my creative space at the moment.

This slipped off of the needles last week and is devine.

I am loving it and so is Amelia, I know that the time will come where she will not want to wear my knits, so I am going to continue the enjoyment of dressing her up while I can.

This is another new pattern release. This time it is Saffron by Elena (AKA Anadiomena on Ravlery)

It is a gorgeous cardigan featuring a rouched 'belt' and ribbon tie closure and looks lovely as a long sleeved version or short. I also have permission to knit this pattern for sale. So if you would like one of these hanging in your little miss' wardrobe for spring let me know.

This one is knitted in a cotton blend and will be perfect for popping on over a dress to keep the chill off or spinnining around the garden.
For more creative girls around the globe - grab yourself a cupp and enjoy the trip over at our creative spaces.

Grateful for Friends...

This week I am grateful for friends.

I am very lucky to have landed some lovely friends in my life.  Being that I am not your usual friend.  How many people would you make friends with, knowing that they were going to pack their house up and move to another state a year or two later?

I have friends that I am still in contact with from school and friends that I know that I have not made the effort and phoned or written to in a while (really should get onto that shouldn't I)

There are friends that have come into my life through the moving and ones that I have met and struck up a friendship with over this blog and met in real life once arriving and unpacking at a destination.
It took me a long time to feel settled in here. Steph is beyond lovely and am hoping that she will be a life long friend even after we leave.

There are those that don't want to be my friend when I tell them what my husband does.  I don't blame them - why make a friend, when you know that it is only for a short time and not a long time.

What has helped alot this year is the Mum's at school.  They are all so lovely and friendly.  I have struck up a real friendship with one Mum from school and she made me a cuppa the other day.

She made me a heart in my coffee - If you pop over for a coffee, please don't expect me to be able to pull this off, it was a once in a lifetime cuppa.

this week...

How was your week?  I managed to get a few things on my list done.  Everything but the creme eggs.

this week... I am knitting to a deadline - although I am being disruppted by a little boy who just wants cuddles.

this week... I really want to get into GoMa, by all reports it is amazing and is only open until the 25th of April.

this week... I need to sit down and write out a menu for our camp trip and get to the store and buy it all and then pack the camper for our mini trip away over the week in the lead up to Easter. We are trying out the Thermo Cooker tonight - thought that I had better try it out before we head away for the week.
this week... I need to work out how the easter bunny will keep the eggs from melting while camping.

My Creative Green Space...

Was your creative space GREEN yesterday?

 Ours was.

I sent Amelia off to school with a green t-shirt and wacky hair to celebrate Saint Patricks Day.  One of the teachers had his head shaved yesterday. The fine for not wearing a uniform went to Worlds Greatest Shave for a Cure and the students were able to participate with Crazy hair and hairspray during the day.

I also made a flower to match Amelia's for her teachers.

Fun was had by all and Amelia was very proud of her hair and told everyone why she had funny hair.

Also in my creative space is a skirt for me.

Looking forward to getting this finished.  I may just have my sewjo back.  For more creative spaces, make sure you pop around and say hi to a few of the other crafty wonders around the world.  Full list of participants can be found at the home of Creative Spaces at Kootoyoo

i'm grateful for...

... the lovely person that found a wet and skitty dog during a thunderstorm and took it to the local vets

... the wonderful vet who scanned her and gave us a call

... the vet nurse who gave her a cuddle, water and some food and locked her up safely for the night

... the happy wag of the tail that i received in the morning when i walked through the doors.

... i am so glad we paid that money to get her micro chipped when she was a puppy.

This is my first time participating in Maxabella loves weekly grateful for posts.
