                                                                    photo and blog link
I love it and have been seen walking down the street with it and taken it off to knitting filled with my latest project.  Thanks Vic for organising the swap - I was so lucky to get what you made.

Also in the mail - a blog prize that I won a while ago and recieved the other week.  Some handdyed yarn, buttons and a needle keeper.  Thanks so much Jo - I love it all.

A Market Swap

Do you recall these?  Well they have arrived in their new home.  Go check them out and just in time too because it is turning cold.

And in return this arrived in the mail.

A little Waldorf inspired doll made by Kelly.  Isn't she the cutest with ties in her hair and a knitted hair band.

The most beautiful eyes.

She has her own little friend and comes complete with stripy leg warmers (move over Flashdance)

She has made herself at home and if she is missing can be found smelling the flowers having a rest or attempting to fit into the doll house.

Now, to decided if I give her to Amelia or keep her for myself.  I am already dreaming of what else I could knit for her.  Her name?  I have no idea - Kelly - did you have one for her - if not suggest away.

If you would like your own Waldorf inspired doll or maybe lil mim! Kelly has a store on Etsy

Hoping that everyone has a great weekend.  I am off to a colourwork workshop in at Tangled Yarns.  I cant wait.

little bead people...

I was the lucky winner of a Bead People kit from Me and Ewe.

How cute is it going to be to sit and make these.  I am going to save them for a rainy day - one is always looking for little treats on a rainy day.

You can get your own little bead kit and handdyed wool felt from Trudi's Etsy shop, or she has popped a tutorial onto her blog.

Morning Tea...

all jazzed up with a little sticker pack that I won from the lovely Posie.

Thanks Jennie - Amelia loves them - still to do the paper chains, we are saving those for a rainy day.

I borrowed a book from the library a few weeks ago and hoping to try out some of the recipes for lunches.  It is called Ready, Steady, Lunchbox.  If they are a hit I will share.

Sorry for the MIA this week - I managed to pick up virus and have been in bed by eight o'clock since about Thursday last week, and sadly night times are my crafting time and have not been able to do anything.

I recently signed up for an Opshop Karma Swap over on the Bendigo Woollen Mills Thread on Ravelry.

I recieved my parcel from Jaffa7. And just look what was inside.

  • A ball of Luxury in Autumn Glow
  • A ball of Luxury hand dyed by WoollyButts
  • Another ball of dyed yarn - I think that it might be cotton
  • The cutest wooden toggle buttons
  • And a set of purple needles - just the right size for when I am game enough to start Miss A on the needles
  • It all came in a pink bag that I have lost to the little miss of the house

Thankyou so much Jaffa7. Thanks must also go to MamaSue for organising the swap - it was so much fun.

It's Tuesday and I Can't wait...

Photo taken from mixtapezine blog
... to have a look through this new magazine and make something out of it. I was one of the lucky winners that won a copy over at mixtapezine blog It is full of recipes from yesteryear from some of the sellers at Madeit. Unfortunaly this will have to wait for a few weeks as we are in the process of eating down our fridge, freezer and pantry. A little sad really as I love to have a stockpile of things. Unless it is in a sealed Tupperwear type container or the manufacture's seal has not been broken it will have to passed onto friends.

For more of what people can't wait for today be sure to pop over and visit Lou

Dotty Spotty Goodness

Some of you might remember me signing up for the Polka Dot Swap - and with every thing going on and the sickness that has been flying around the house at the moment I only managed to get my parcel in the mail. Thanks so much Michelle for understanding. I hope that you enjoy what I put together for you.

Here is what I was lucky to recieve.

I love it all. The Sunnyboy Quilted pouch is already in use with a set of socks for Tim, and the little brooch is on my coat - which would you believe I am still wearing and it is almost Spring. We have had a cold front come through and it is freezing yet again.
If you like the Sunnyboy, Michelle has an Etsy store and trades as Buttontreelane. Go check out her goodies and postage in Australia is FREE (how good is that)

Pay it Forward

I was one of three lucky bloggers that would recieve something special from Karen as part of her Pay it Forward. Karen was worried that she was late - although I am sure that she was well in the 12 month time frame that is allowed.

We recieved two of her 'Super-Duper' caped T's. Both of the kids love them and I am sure that they will recieve a lot of wear. Baden has already had an incident in his (not that the cap had anything to do with it, but all I could think of was Mr Incredible telling Increda Boy that caps are a bad thing and result in problems)

All is well now and they are in use. Here are a few pictures for you

I also recieved a spotty crochet hook roll wich will come into good use at knitting and knotting nights. (I am yet to get a photo of it - but pop over to Karen's blog to see it)

So, Now it is your chance to be part of the PIF action.
I’m changing the rules a little. I know how hard it is to stay current with blogs, so I’m not going to pick the first three commenters, but use a number generator to randomly select a lucky comment. (can also be typepad etc - you get the picture) Also, if you want to comment but don’t want to play, feel free to opt out.

Here are the rules:
1. Leave a comment on this post and if the generator picks your number you get a (probably) handmade item from me.
2. The lucky commentor will recieve hand made goodies from me (within the year) they may also choose a charity of their own and will recieve something for you and something for them (or I could send it directly to them)
3. When you have recieved your PIF from me, please blog about it and do the same (you can give to three commentors or three charities - I don't mind)
4. Have fun doing it - it is all about Paying it Forward after all.

Usually there are three lucky winners - but as I am changing it a little this is what will happen.
I am going to be giving the other two to locally.
1. will go to a local family with two little girls who lost everything in a house fire two weeks ago. I will be making them both a little dress for the summer.
2. will be making and dropping off 6 knitted beanies to the local hospital

So comment away - if you dont want to be part of it you are still very welcome to comment on this post (just let me know that you are opting out)

Have you ever had one of those weeks?

The ones that if your head was not attatched to your neck it would be out wondering???

Well I am having a month of them...

Here is what I have done the past month - I kid you not

1. Booked a flight to Brisbane for Mr Kylie P and Mrs Kylie P - what was I thinking. Most possibly booked the ticket with two toddlers on my lap helping me LOL. Stood at the airport and they were not going to allow Tim on the plane - so was looking like my weekend away was going to be a failure from the start. Did not take much to tear up and get the lovely Virgin Blue lady to change the name.

2. Send a parcel to myself - Yes I know that it is always lovely to get mail in the post - but from yourself - in my defence I had to send a return envelope in the parcel - I just had them around the wrong way - humm
And because I post is not a post without a photo or two - these are some recent parcels that have arrived for me (and not from me)
I won the 50 post on Bec's blog - she hand delivered it to me on a trip here recently.
And a fat quarter swap on Crafty Mumma's recently - two pieces fo knit material - to make Baden a shirt or two. And a cute little matching button.
Thanks girls for spoiling me and making my month a little more bearable!

In the letter box!

Look what has arrived for me in the letter box. Well not for me - this will be for Baden. He is in desperate need of a pair of knitted longies to keep his little legs warm and it is getting cold quick. So this is the next project that will be on the knitting needles. And in 12ply - how could you go wrong...

Wool is from Jen at Knitspirations. Thankyou so much - and many thanks also for the cutest little stitch markers to help me out on my next project. Would you believe that these were on my wish list for Christmas but got something else instead.
And opps - I am meant to be on a stash building ban - but is it classed as stash if I am knitting it up almost straight away? Promise to try to be good from here on... (I did say try!)

In my letter box.

Do you ever seem that the only thing that you receive is bills. Well me too. But there is a little fun out there. How - join in on a swap.

This swap was organised through Crafty Mamas - 5 cards to be sent and 5 to be received.

These arrived in my letterbox yesterday from Gilly - all the way from Western Australia. Thanks Gilly we love them and will come in great use with all of the birthdays we have coming up.

And here is a sneak peak of what's on the way to Cinna.

Vintage Sheet Swap!

I participated in a swap on blog land - Meika saw the idea on Oh Fransson blog and thought that the idea was fab and wanted to join in the fun but it was a little too late - and so she thought of doing one here down under.

So I sent off 10 fat quarters and in return received these...
Thanks Meika for organizing this in the middle of moving. I know that the Holly Hobby Fabric is from Cass - if anyone else can see what they sent let me know and I will add a link.

Swappity Swap...

Everyone seems to be in love with my handknits this year and with the lack of time that Amelia will let me sit on the sewing machine I thought that I would do a few more market swaps with the girls over at Crafty Mama's

First of Lissy contacted me and asked if I would make her a beanie to keep her head warm when she traveled south to visit family

and this is what we received in return, a lovely dress for Amelia, a few of Lissy's handmade mumma toys and a tiedyed wrap for Baden (not pictured because he has claimed it as his cuddly)

Thanks Lis - we love them all and I so have to buy this pattern when they are next in the CM Shop!

A chocolate swap over at Crafty Mama's was received from Claire

I did not get a picture of the Chocs that we sent - but here is a photo of the Caramel coloured cable beanie that I knitted for the little man in her life. Almost good enough to eat!

And last but not least the fat quarters which I recieved from the lovely girls as part of the Essential Baby Birthday Swap. Looking forward to getting some Amelia free time so I can have a play and create something from them all. I cant tell you what came from who - as the envelopes got wet in the letter box while I was away - and Tim being the loving husband that he is washed them all for me (there were about four that were in plastic - and my lesson has bean learnt now - all of my hand made goodies will now be sealed before posting!

Happy Easter...

Just hopping in to wish everyone a very Happy Easter.

I did not go over board with Easter this year as it is Tim's birthday and I wanted to make it a special day for him and not get lost in all of the Easter hype. Amelia gets the idea of chocolate in the shops and to keep her from throwing a tantrum while shopping I would tell her that only the Easter Bunny could buy the chocolate (you would not believe how hard that was not to pop one in the trolley for myself - I have a real soft spot for the caramel filled eggs!) She did however get a little chocolate and a DVD of the Fox and the Hound.

This is what we have been up to in the lead up to Easter this year...

Easter Masks (made at the local library)
Cupcakes with a chocolaty surprise (which we took to playgroup to share with friends)

Knitted Rabbit Finger Puppets
I participated in an Easter Swap over at Crafty Mamas. Thankyou to Lisa for our lovely gifts

Secret Santa's

Look at what the lovely postman delivered to me the other day. A package all the way from Marie in lovely QLD.
Thanks Marie for putting in the time to make us all a something a little special this year for Christmas. Amelia received a hat (it is so cute and reminds me of my brownie hats - and yellow really suits her!) Tim and I received eye covers each (to take to the hospital so we can get some shut eye!) A knitting roll, tissue holder and a bag for nappies (with a newborn nappy - man I have forgot just how small they are!) And a bib and shoes for bub in Michael Millers 'Rocket Rascals' , oh and two Enid Gilchrist Books.

And this is what all of those yoyo's became - A 4mtr garland as part of my gift to Natalie.
Featuring some of her favorite Christmas colours. And just a few other goodies, plus a little something for Natalie's two boys!

I also received some material in a fat quarter swap - but am yet to get a photo of that - so will pop a picture on when I take it!

Thanks Grandma!

I love it when the postman comes and brings us more than just bills! And yesterday two great big boxes arrived for us from Grandma and Grandpa in Mackay full of Christmas presents and a whole heap of bits and pieces that I have left at home for the past ten years (Mum and Dad are in the process of de-culling - so in two years they can travel Australia in there caravan and spend our inheritance LOL)

Anyway - One of the presents in there was this gorgeous 'Eye Spy' quilt. It is actually part of Amelia's birthday present so she was allowed to have it now! Needless to say that Amelia has carried it everywhere today - slept under it, played on it and kept me amused with all of the things that one can find.

They are not the best photos, bit they will have to do for the time being. It is raining and overcast today and Amelia is in long sleeved shirts and long pants and it only managed to reach 15 degrees today (and here I was whining about it being 39 degrees only three days ago!)

A knitted doll update...

How quickly has the week gone? I am half way through knitting the topsey turvey doll. Just one more half of a skirt to go and then I will start stitching her together and then only the accessories to go - Oh and her arms!

Looks like a bit of a mess doesn't it with all of those ends to be weaved in!

In the mail today came this little package. Morag and I are doing a smock pattern swap. As with the rest of the sewing world we are a little hooked on Smocks at the moment. Check out
Ingrids - they are georgous! Thanks Morag - Love the material and the knitting pattern that you sent along (you rock!)

And look what we saw out our front door this afternoon. A Kangaroo and can you see those legs - yes there is a joey in there!
