Movember

So,  how many of you had to put up with a hairy upper lip for the month of November.

I was spared (only because my darling husband still manages to pull of a patchy moustash and it is ginger)  Shhh - I did not just tell you all that.

Anyway - I have a friend that works in a man's world and she was getting paid out on for the lack of Mo she had been able to pull of.  So I hooked her up her own, felted it and sent it along for her to wear at the fundraiser BBQ at lunch time.  It was a hit!
So, we now have a year to wait until the men have a real excuse to grow there Mo. Movember a great cause, raising money for men's health.

At My House...

we have been out in search of lollies.  I have been inspired by Corrie's gingerbread house and I need one too.  Thinking that if it turns out it will be my contribution to the Kindergarten Raffle, so we are heading down to IKEA tomorrow to grab a Gingerbread House Kit (one less thing to mess up)

...at my house , I have been playing yarn chicken - I still have the front button bands to do on the forth Crazy Aunt knit and I only have 9grams (Crazy Aunt indeed)

...at my house, the kids have sent off their Kids Christmas Swap packages...

...at my house, we have placed little lights out the front.  Amelia was starting to get a little concerned that Santa will not be able to find us at Christmas time when we are camping, these will light up the way for Santa (Note to Self:  dont forget to pack them in the camper trailer or I will be up for another $10)

...at my house, I have booked myself into a photography course.  Just a one day one to learn what all of the buttons are for on my new camera. Although, this little man is over being a model for Mumma.

...at my house ...dont try this at your house...
...I thought that I would be clever and make some little Christmas Tree Crayons - humm - When the packet says 'ICE CUBE TREES'   That may have been warning enough - but NO!

This Moment...

{this moment} a Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary  moment. A moment I want to pause, savour and remember.

My Creative Space...

...the clock is ticking and I am starting to get a little bit stressed.  30 days till Christmas - HOW ON EARTH DID THAT HAPPEN.

Wonder If I sent out a message to the gods would they change Jesus' birthday to maybe the 25th of January?
That should give us all a little more time!

Oh well - best be off this computer and onto some more crafting - Who's crazy idea was it to mke gifts this year - Oh that's right MINE - so I guess that I can not blame anyone can I.

I am getting the kids to help out this afternoon - then I can tick gift wrap off of the list.

After I tick ironing off of my list today I am going to sit down with an iced coffee and enjoy some other crafty spots,  for the list me sure to pop over here.

Purple Wildflowers

I had the pleasure once again to be part of  Georgie's testing team of mad knitters.  It is quite a thing to be part of her little team and it is getting harder and harder to get on.  Being that Miss Amelia doesn't seem to be growing in the chest department and therefore fighting with lots of other two year olds (yes - she is indeed 5) mothers to be lucky enough to grab a spot.

I am in love with this pattern and can see more in the future as it has an extensive size range - that I am loving now that my little girl is growing up and no longer a baby.

The Darwinia, is another in the Wildflower range and is set for release at the end of the month.
I knitted it in a 50/50 Cotton/Acrylic called GGH Bali.  It feels nice to knit with and apparently easy to care for - a bonus when you are knitting children's clothes.

I have gone a little crazy with the pictures of this - what can I say - I am loving my new camera.

This one is for Amelia for Christmas - she kept asking who it was for while I was knitting it and I kept saying "Just a little girl"  to that she would add "Oh, well I would like one just like it please Mum!"  hehe - so another tick off of the Christmas gift list.

I will link to the pattern details when they are up on Ravelry.

Reminder

just a quick note to see how everyone is going.  We have 24 Families taking part and 45 Children ranging in ages from 15months up to 10.

Fingers crossed that everyone recieved an email, I know that one went missing in the greater internet world and hoping that it was the only one.

So - mail day is Saturday 27th (if anyone needs extra time could you let me know so I can pass it on.  I have deleated my email from the first post (you would not believe how much spam I am getting since popping it there for all to see)  More details on the swap can be found here. A few of you have emailed asking what size envelope - I have purchased two of the small prepaid bags.  I thought that was the easiest option and the kids can fill it up and I dont have to worry about spliting an envelope.

There was one family that commented on the blog, but I did not get an email from, sadly there profile did not have a return address or blog and I had to way of finding more details out:(

I think that is about it, my two are having fun creating and putting things together for there friend.  If you have a blog and would like to do a sneak peak that is ok - and I would love to see blog posts pop up after they arrive with what everyone got.

Organise Me in 2011!

Well I can dream.  Every year I have huge plans and they last about a month.

Next year however, with my eldest heading off to Prep I feel that I need a little help.

I have a pile of things ready to help me - fingers crossed.

A wall calander that is split into 6 people (enough for must families - or so it states)  It also allows me to have a row for visitors and family things that I need to remember.

A Diary, Planner, Journal that I picked up the other week from Office Works for $20.  It is divided into days and there is even a few rows that read unexpected tasks completed  Any list loving person would have to love that.

And a finally a little diary that I picked up from KMart for $2.  I thought that it was the right size to pop in my handbag if someone told me something while out and about.  The plan is that it would be transfered to the wall calander on returning home.

Now to hang the Calander (it is a 15 month one and started in October)  and clean the desk so I can lay out the organiser and keep it open on the current day.

Dye Another Day...

My creative space actually occured almost a week ago.

But I am certain that you will not mind.

I spent the day at Tangled Yarns turning wool into something special and playing with colour.

We learnt two methods (both of which were fun) and came home with two skiens of wet spaghettti.

Reskiened and WOW.

What a beautiful back drop.
I think that I might become addicted to this, shhhh, Don't tell Tim.
My skeins are the ones on the right of both photos.  Liz owns the other two.

For more creative spaces - grab yourself a coffee and head over to kootoyoo

Sea Princess in the City

Modelled shots on my little miss.

I have fallen head over heals for this after seeing Amelia in it - I was trying so hard not to - but how could I help myself.
There will be another of these and maybe even two or three, in each size even:)

Photo shoot occurred on our return from the beach - The kids were having too much fun collecting shells.

So we took a drive up to a local lookout yesterday and I snapped a few shots.

This is being wrapped and posted pronto - I just can't bear to have to sit around here and look at me any longer.

Please refer to this blog post or Ravelry for further details.

Tweed Coast

We had a great weekend in the sun. Lots of time spent collecting shells and swimming in the ocean. I also had fun taking the camera off of the Auto mode and playing around (I am in the market for a new camera - so thought that I should learn some of the features of this one first)

If you are waiting on an email for me today - I am not going to get to it till tomorrow.  (sorry for those waiting on finding out who your partner is for the Kids Christmas Swap - I will get to it tomorrow morning) Dont forget to email me with your postal address (I am still waiting on a few)
