Day 16: Blow Wind, Blow...

*What do I see?
"A pig in a petticoat
A turkey in a nightcap
A chicken in a muffler
A jersy cow with ten horns
A rabbit with the measles.

I don't believe it,
I dont BELIEVE it."

It has been a little bit like that around here today.  The wind picked up last night and was recorded at reaching 92km/h.  We are still experiencing 40 - 50km/h winds.

Lucky for the neighbourhood I did not have washing on the line - it could have been a little bit embarrasing.

What are you up to this Sunny, Windy Weekend?  Or is it Raining, Flooding or Snowing in your neck of the woods?
We have been in the garden collecting, cutting down and pruning trees, our neighbours lost three trees last night, one of which landed on our driveway and we have a ute full of trunks and leaves to take to the tip tomorrow.

Hoping that I can sit and knit a little tonight.  I am finally having a win with these cables and if I do say so myself they are looking great.

* Lines from the book 'Mrs Mopple's Washing Line' a favourite in our house.

Day #15 - Spring is off the needles

and on the shoulders.

Loving this look, and seriously thinking that I need to get a few things on the needles or under the machine for me.

Pattern:  Maggies flower tunic
Needles: 4.5mm Circulars
Yarn: Araucania Pomaire from AmericanYarns
Mods: I knitted it on bigger sized needles then what the pattern calls for and in a 10ply yarn.  I also did 5 increase rounds before splitting for the sleeves instead of the stated 3.  Finished size I would say is a 5-6.  It is a little on the large size for Amelia - but cute all the same.  Also added a third button (instead of stated 2)

Day 14: My Creative Space

My Creative Space is in the kitchen today.

I invited a few Mum's over from Kinder for Morning Tea.  An excuse to get together really and make up a batch of Lemonade Scones.  I was also trying to find something that I knew how to make and was easy to show a friend who has recently moved here from America, she is missing her 'biscuits'.

3 cups Self Raising Flour
1 cup Cream
1 cup Lemonade

Place Flour in a bowl.  Pour Cream and Lemonade in and give it a stir. Place onto prepared tray in clumps and throw into a moderate oven until goldern.  (about 15 minutes)
Enjoy with Jam and Cream.
Easy Peasy.

#10 At Our House (on a rainy day)

A wet and rainy day today stuck inside for another day.

What to do with two toddlers before they go nuts (or rather there darling mother does)

We washed dollies.

A tub of warm water and lots of hand soap. Fun to be had by all for at least 30 minutes.

There will be lots of inside play happening this week.  I am thinking movies and popcorn tomorrow.

I am hosting a little give away tomorrow - so make sure you come and check that out.  The prize is a crochet Hook case made by Gabrielle from American Yarns

For more exciting house's (and towns) make sure you pop by and say hi to Lou.

#10 A Sunday Drive

It is raining and bleak here at the moment.

So what were two parents to do, with two toddlers who had clearly had enough of being inside for two days straight already and the promise from the weather man of more rain on it's way.

We piled into the car and headed for a drive.

We stopped for lunch at a little cafe just out of town and then followed a road to see where it would take us.

We found dirt, bush, trees and water.

We all had an enjoyable afternoon and better than sitting inside looking at each other or watching the idiot box!
