Thrifty Tuesdays...

Well we hit the opshop yesterday and came home with these little goodies!

Two pieces of material - one each for the kids. And a book that I used to love
reading as a child...

Tim has requested a new knitted cricket vest!

And not like a need anymore knitting books - but I could not leave them there (and I was very strong - I could have walked out with 100 of them)

This is...What Makes Me Laugh Out Loud!

I enjoy staying up late to watch "Men in Trees" It is one of the shows that I seem to LOL to.
Oh and look - she is knitting! heheOn a daily basic I get a laugh just by watching this little girl grow and develop, and enjoy seeing what she comes up with next. I could not help but take a photo of this. Amelia likes to iron her doll quilt - well the only things that she sees me iron is material or sewing! LOLSo - what makes you LOL

Mackay Floods

Mackay, Queensland Australia (my original home town) Is currently experiencing the worst flood in 90 years.

Please spare a moment of your time to think of those that have lost everything. My extended family were affected, but are lucky to own Queensland style homes and although they have last cars, washing machine and other belongings, they have been able to stay in their own homes and still have a dry bed.

This is...LOVE

We don't really celebrate Valentines Day! We usually go out for dinner a few days later. But yesterday I decided to spend some quality time with Miss A.

We baked Biscuits...

Played with Pink Playdough...

And I made the kids a pair of Heart PJ's to wear to bed...
Happy Valentines Day from all of us to you. Hope that you all had a great day.

This is...

I have joined in the fun. Be it a little late - but I intend on playing catch up! Go and check out Three Buttons - the game is to finish the sentence and every week it starts with 'This is'

So this week is Sunday Lunch. These are Amelia's favourites. Savory Pinwheels! Simply puff pastry rolled up with yummy things inside (todays were bacon, cheese and shallots on BBQ sauce and Vegemite and cheese) Not overly exciting - but a quick little treat that I was able to make after bringing a cranky girl home from church.

This is... my collection

This is...what scares me

This is...my favourite cup

Will be back with photos of the rest at a more suitable hour - it is currently 0250hrs
Whipped up - just in time...

Tim and I attended a cocktail party on Friday night for his work. Amelia stayed at home with Grandma and Baden came along.

I have no idea why I thought that he needed a spunky little outfit, but at 5pm I decided to make him a little outfit to match Dad's (mind you we had to leave home by 7 to get there in time and I was not even showered or dressed by this point)

Here is a picture of us - with Baden dressed up just like his Dad. (complete with Armoured Corp stripes and a bow tie)

And you are possibly going to get sick of me talking (and showing you pictures) of this little man . He also turned two weeks on Friday - where or where has the time gone?

In Fabric Heaven

I think that is what you would call where I am at the moment.

Mum and I had a quick visit into Spotlight the other day. I was only going in to get some felt and ribbon and came out $23 poorer. But you would have too.

They were having a $1 sale on all of there yellow ticket mark down. That is right, run out fabrics for $1. (You can not even get fabric for that at the op shop here) So I picked out these fabrics - All destined to become Work in Progress Wednesday projects.

Skirts for ME Tops for ME Dress for ME

These (yellow for nappy boosters + who could resist the wiggles)

and just cause I liked them (have a few gifts to make - so these will be handy)

And some fabrics for Amelia - mustn't have downloaded the photo off of the camera!

Home Sweet Home

Well we are home and I guess the fun begins.

Amelia has spent the last few days taking our blood pressure and checking our ears with her new Dr's set (a gift from Baden on his arrival) and playing in her home corner with her new doll and every once in a while stopping to peek at Baden and ask questions. Baden is a very content baby and a joy to care for (after having had Amelia suffer with lung and breathing issues at birth it has started off by being a completely different experience)

It sounds charmed, doesn't it? It is. Don't get me wrong - Tim and I haven't had much sleep, we have a little man who seems to have his days and nights mixed up. We did our first trip into town today and almost left Baden at home in his basinette. Thank goodness for Mum (who is staying for four more weeks - in an attempt for me to get my head around everything) who was sitting in the back seat and said "Where's Baden?"...but, mostly, our life is relatively calm. We have so very much to be thankful for. And as Tim keeps reminding me, we were still in hospital with Amelia at this point!

And while I'm at it, I want to say thank you to every one of you who has dropped by to wish us well. I've been tickled to get all of your comments, and meet the new visitors. It's been a happy week - a sleepless one - but a happy one, too.

We're all recuperating and crafting and sewing will resume shortly... I have an outfit for Amelia and I that I would like to make for Mr B's Baptism (hmmm - I have two weeks!) And knitting to do for Mr B who's arms are already too long for his size000 jump suits!

So until I get back, have fun, and I do promise not to neglect this little blog!
