Red, Red, Red
Red Yarn, Red finished cardi, Red jumping boy, Red Bottle Brush and Red Rosella.
I am home from a quick weekend getaway with a group of Mummies to recharge the batteries and renew the soul. Lots of laughs, chatting, knitting, sitting by the fire and a view that I could get used to. Thrown in with great food, company, lots of cheese and a little bit of wine.
Hope that you have all had a great weekend.

A Quick Gift...
Nothing like getting the felling of the love of knitting and the click, click of the needles that a quick project.
Cowl cry quick, simple and finished in a night.
A last minute gift for the little Miss’ teacher’s aide. I left it till the very end to start something for her (well I only found out on Monday that her birthday was Thursday - so not technically)
I have noticed over the past few weeks that Angie is coming into school all rugged up, so I think that she is a cold frog and yes a cowl in QLD is not neccessary, but who can say no to a cute little neck warmer.
Cast on at 8.30 and off the needles and tucked into bed just after midnight. I think I might have my knitjo back, I have a few things on the needles, once those are off of the needles - watch out yarn stash:) And Steph heads to market next weekend and has told me to get my needles happening. Grab yourself a cuppa and enjoy what others are getting up to in their creative spaces.

Sometimes...
you just have to go with the flow...
put your own fears* aside...
and let the boy jump in puddles.
* the man of the house has managed to get himself struck by lightning not once, but twice. When it rains and the sky starts to rumble there is always a fear that runs through my veins.

Hoot...
We have a new friend living at our house.
On a recent visit from Grandma she bought this new little friend down.
He was a little shy to start with, but is enjoying his new home and noisy surrounds.
Look at how cute his ears are and oh those blue eyes.

Do your kids enjoy watching Giggle and Hoot. I must admit, I love them too. They are so cheerful and happy and will keep them entertained while I am attempting to get dinner on the table of an evening. (They are also on the free App for ABC at the moment - great for when you need to keep a little boy quiet at an appointment)
Mum made this out of a pattern from a Handmade Magazine, the pattern is by Jhoanna Monte of One Red Robin (thanks Gilly:)

Little Butterflies...
The first knit is off of the needles for the season and all I can say is WOW.
I have fallen head over heels for this pattern. It is by the one and only Tikki and is called Little Butterflies.
Amelia loves it too and I had so much fun taking photos of it. Sorry, but if it is ok you are just going to have to sit through them all - or scroll to the end, your choice... This girl could model for a magazine - when she is in a good mood she loves having her photo taken.
I am surprised that she loves the knit so much. It is knitted with the scratchiest of wool known to mankind. It is an old moth proofed yarn that Mum found while cleaning up my Grandmothers craft room. I love the colour though and she does look good in yellow - this girl can pull off any colour (lucky thing)
Ravelled here. And linking up with kootoyoo at Our Creative Spaces.

Happy Mother's Day...
Hoping that all of the Mothers had a fantastic day.
Our little family was minus one this year and so we celebrated earlier in the week. A trip to the beach for a little sun and surf before it gets too cool.
A Mother's Day Tea Party during the week, put on by 22 little prep students who clearly love and adore there Mum's.
I woke up this morning and enjoyed a coffee from my new machine. Yummm... I am slowly working through the samples. If anyone has a favourite please let me know, I have no idea how to descide what I should order. I don't think that I really like the idea of the waste of the pods. But I am not throwing a cup out and I will be able to take my own coffee to the park and not have to pay $4, now so that has to be a bonus...
We also enjoyed a day around at a friends place (the kids did not want to come home, so I guess they enjoyed the day too!)
Many thanks to my two munchkins for making mothers day special - they are the reason I get to celebrate it after all. Also thinking of all of those that have lost there Mum's. I was meant to phone a friend tonight and wish her a happy first mothers day (I will do it tomorrow night) She lost her Mum before we were even teens, it feels like such a long time ago and now she is a Mum and that is something to celebrate.

Thea and Sami Studio and Shop Opening
Thea and Sami opened their studio doors on Saturday.
I was lucky enough to head over and visit without any little helpers and also managed to enjoy a wine and a chat to her lovely partner Voyt.
Thea and Dan showed how they work together to create meters and meters of handprinted fabric. To say it was amazing is an understatement.
I would love to do one of Thea's workshops, working around DH is going to be a challenge (cross your fingers for me) It looks like so much fun.
The space is amazing
A drying machine and a cleaning area. Thea will be opening the studio pn a Saturdays and you can pop in and have a look and you maybe lucky to see past students working away using this amazing space.
I did not come home empty handed. I purchased a print of the famous Brisbane Skyline. I just have to get a frame for it now.
Thea also blogs, make sure you go and have a look.
