SIT Part 2... Shop till you Drop

Off the plane and a collection of four very excited women (some of us meeting for the first time) hugs kissed and laughed.  We then jumped into a taxi and a brisk walk into the city saw us being thrown onto a mini bus with 20 others and off we went.



First stop The Remnantware House.  A few lucky people won shopping vouchers to spend. The rest of us did not miss out though.  It was Fat Quarter Friday - Buy one get one free.  Apparently this occurs every Friday so if you are in Sydney make sure you make your way there on a Friday if you are looking to increase your stash.

I came home with some denim with the plans of turning it into a skirt or two for Amelia and I. I also grabbed some lycra, will see how I go at turning it into swimmers for Amelia.

Onto the bus again and we were handed a bag of snacks (thanks for organising that Sheridan and Donna - we needed that after our flight and not having enough time to grab lunch)
Next stop Calico and Ivy

I could move into this place and so wish that there was something like this around here. So much inspiration and lovely things to look at at every turn.  I was restrained however and stayed away from the fabrics (we all know that I am more of a knitter these days anyway)

I bought home some cotton that I have had my eye on for a while to knit a cardigan for me.

Next and Final stop was Prints Charming.

Another place of wall to wall inspiration and colour.

I made a few purchases here and also stayed on to enjoy a champane and nibbles while we sat and stitched.

This pile of goodies came home with me.

My cousin and his wife then collected me from Prints Charming - would you believe that they will be moving just down the road and that Kirsten  knows the house, the old owners and their soon to be new neighbours.

Back to find our bed for the night.  I was lucky enough to share a  room with three other Mum's.  Thanks Wendy, Bronwyn, and Becky.

This is our view from Sydney's The Rocks YHA. Spectacular is what comes to mind and a fntastic view of both of Syndey (if not Australia's) iconic Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
I am hoping that we can take the family here later in the year with a trip over to Taronga Zoo.
