Felting Fun...

A quick Christmas gift that I whipped up a few days before Christmas for my Grandmothers.  Seriously, the longest part of these was waiting for the washing machine to do its thing and felt them.

I used two balls of Noro Kureyon and Lucy of Attic24's Hexagon Crochet pattern.  Insperation came from Kelly of Tangled Yarns ready for Christmas.

Two rounds in the washing machine (front loader) with a few tennis balls and an old towel - next time I will find an old pair of shoes to add in there as well as the front loaders are a little too kind for this sort of treatment.

Two Cute Fairy's

As part of the Christmas gift for Amelia and Gracie I whipped up a cute little skirt to go with a top that I had purchased some months ago at Target.

I dont have a cute picture of them standing together but these will have to do.  It shows how much fun they had on Christmas day and wearing them.

A change of plans...

In fear of being flooded out and floating out to sea, Christmas venue was changed and we went straight to my parents.  The camper trailer may stay where it is if the weather channel are correct with there predictions of more rain.

There were two little people here that were very impressed with Santa's ability to find where they were for Christmas Day.

Time spent eating and keeping dry with Grandparents

and of course - seeing which of Grandpa's girls could get more of his chest.

We hope that this finds you all well and dry and enjoying a wonderful Christmas with your family and friends.

It's a wrap...

We are almost ready to head out the door.  The car is almost packed and the kids have been having fun making some wrapping paper.
I think it looks great. And a great activity to do with the kids when the rain is pouring outside.
And we finished them off with a handprint tag.

Santa Photo...

The kids had there Santa photo the other day.

Both the photographer and Santa tried to get Baden to put his arms down - but that was not going to happen, and personally this mother was just happy that he would sit there and smile.  He has come a long way in a year. We have no Santa photo to document the distress that this little man would have been in if I had plonked him on Santa's knee. To give you an example of his dislike to him last year, a book sat unopened for weeks because of who gave it to him.

This year he has asked for a Buzz and a Ball and much to his disgust he keeps seeing him and he keeps leaving without handing over the goods.

Behind the Lense...

Thought that I would share a photo that my Darling Husband took of me.

I really need to hand over the camera a little more and get some more photos with the kids.

WoolyJolly asked how I get such great shots.  Kids move and are fast at it.  I take heaps of photos and have the camera set to snap quickly.  For every photo that you see - there are about 50 that have been taken along with it.  I also bought a 16G SD card with the new camera - so snapping away is easy and I dont have to stand and delete while I attempt to get the perfect shot.  Oh, and the course that I just did was on Capturing Joy and spoke about taking photos of children, family and friends. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it. After Christmas I am doing a landscape course and then onto a few advance courses.

Finished...

The last of the crazy Aunt knits are off of the needles.

A Belle beanie, inspired by the movie Twilight.  Having not seen the movies I scratched my head and then did a search on Ravelry.  Some clever person had popped up a pattern for a beanie that Belle wore during the first movie. For pattern details pop over here.

Then it was onto the 9 year old nephew.  I descided on Robots and with the kids help they descided on what colours the robots would be (Tim I think really wanted fluro robots - but I managed to get this out of left over yarn)

How cute do they both look.
Best be off - still have a few things to finish and have to hit the sewing machine and then think about what I need to pack.

My Happy List...

I am running a little late to this linky party - but not the less I thought that I would still join in.

Making me happy at the moment is...

This little girl who has finished at Kindergarten and is so excited to start Prep that she asked if she could go on Saturday.  It is going to be a LONG six weeks.

My wonderful family and friends. Thankyou for all that you have done.

My parents - I have enjoyed living closer to them this year (well in the same state - we are still 12 hours drive from them) and that they havetaken so many opportunities to visit, Thanks Mum and Dad, It means alot to all of us.

That we are not moving this year.  Seven moves in Seven years was just a little too many.

That we are heading away for two weeks camping over Christmas with Family and Friends. Sun, Sea and Family - what more could you ask for.

For more Happy Lists - make sure you pop over and say hi at Kate's: Foxs Lane.

The Big Wet...

If you have been keeping up with the news, then you would know that Wagga has it's river running through the middle of town.

I have been homesick for this little town that we called home for two years.  Although, as I sit here with dry feet I am quietly a little bit happy that I am not there this week.

Thinking of all of our friends as they go through this and wait to see how much more rain comes there way and what other demage the sky's can do.

Becky also past throught town and grabbed some shots - Check out her blog post here.

At Our House...

The Christmas celebrations have begun in our house over the weekend.

We took the kids in to see the lighting of the Christmas Tree.  All I can say is WOW - it is very impressive.  The World's Biggest Solar Powered Christmas Tree.  Another tick for Brisbane City Councils Green Brisbane campain.

Sunday Morning saw the kids do the service at Church.  From the songs through to the bible readings.

A Christmas Celebration at Kindergarten and a book left from the Jolly Man.

I attended a photography course on the weekend and have had fun playing with a few of the settings. I have also booked in for another two courses I had so much fun.

Oh and I have a little elf in the kitchen - not sure how much help he is being though (Thanks must go to my Mum for sending it to him - THANKS MUM - You'll keep:)

Go and pop your head into Lou's and see what is happening at other's house's.

This Moment...

[this moment] A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment.  A moment I want to pause, savour and remember.

My Creative Space...

Is a sugar over load today...

Yumm - the smell of the gingerbread was almost too much for me and I was tempted to have a little taste.

Would anyone notice that the side of the house was missing?

Come inside ths little house - The sugar, the lollies, the Ginger, and lets not forget Santa.
This one is all wrapped up and is heading with me to Kinder drop off so I dont have to be tempted again today.  It is our contribution to the pic-a-prize raffle at Amelia and Baden's Kinder Christmas party.  If you would like your chance to win it and live in Brisbane let me know - tickets are $1.
Disclaimer:  I did not make the biscuit part - thanks must go to IKEA.

We will be making another next week - this one with the kids help. For more creative spaces be sure to check in with Kootoyoo.

December 1st

Well - where on earth has the year gone.  As I sit here today and dream of a hot summer getaway full of sunshine and sand, I am starting to think that it is going to look a little like this...

Rain, Rain and more Rain is what is on the cards and is looking more and more like we will have a wet Christmas and a soggy Santa this year.

I was starting to get a little worried that I had not finished the Advent Calander for the kids this year - the Box One was squashed in our last move. I have taken a deep breathe and we are continuing on without the cute Little Stocking one that I wanted to achieve - there is always next year and it means that it is one less thing that I have to worry about.

We will still do advent things and I will share what we are going to do - but at the moment I am off to hug my little family and hold them tight and then after dinner I am going to sit and work out what I would like to achieve next week (with an unplanned trip home thrown in to visit Mum and Dad and attend the funeral of a dear family friend)
