Happy Mothers Day

Mothers are the place that we call home.
On them we rest our heads and close our eyes.
There's no one else who grants the same soft peace,
Happiness, contentment, sweet release,
Erasing nighttime tears with lullabies,
Restoring the bright sun that makes us bloom.

Happy Mothers Day to all of the crafty mum's and to my Mum. I love you and Miss you.

Happy Mothers Day

A busy postman!

Well my postman was a busy boy on Friday.

In all I recieved 10 packages in the post.

These included a copy of the latest women's magazine from Ottobre. I won it in a competition over at Crafty Mama's. I can not wait for spring and summer to be able to wear some of the things that I am planning to make! (bring on the warmer weather)

A pattern from Andrea of a dress that I am going to make for myself. Thankyou Andrea!

I knitting roll and a packet of Tim Tams from IngridK for my birthday. Thankyou Ingrid - I love the material and have already filled it and still have needles left over! Now to think of some way to store all of my circulars!

A lovely pin cushion and goodies from Natalie as part of the Essential Baby Sewing Girls, Mothers Day Swap! Thankyou Natalie I love it and can not believe how similar our tastes are!

Lots of cards and some money to spend on ME.

Oh and I almost forgot - Some fluffy mail to knit up for an order!
Two Little Rabbits

Hop, little rabbits, hop, hop, hop,
Hop, little rabbits, don't you stop.
Hop, little rabbits, one, two, three.
Hop, little rabbits, hop to me.

These two cute little rabbits came all wraped up for Easter from the wonderful Vi. I was part of an Easter Swap over at Crafty Mama's. Aren't they the cutest. Amelia just loves the pink one that Vi made just for her and I LOVE the material in the little dress that she is wearing!

Knitting, Knitting, Knitting

I have gone slipper crazy - well in the middle of it any way.

I made these little booties and then my grandmother asked for a pair - so I am in the middle of hers at the moment (read as: she has two feet and I have only done one!) How could I say no when she actually gave me the wool!

Leg Warmers - Oh so RED!

This little number reminds me of FLASHDANCE (sad I know)

I descided that Amelia needed something to keep her legs extra warm when we go for a walk or she plays on the swims. You know how there little legs seem to exposed when they sit down. Well this is hopefully going to combat that.

100%Acrylic (Panda) From Gloria's Closet
Eyelet design - just practicing a few stitches really

And YES there is another one coming - it is almost finished I just have to get the computer back to my little bro! and could not wait to pop it on here!

Le' Slouch

Well I am in the knitting mood at the moment! I bought some wool the other day and wanted to knit myself a jumper. Did the tension square (which I never do!) and everything was going well until I measured it and it was about 10cm too short! Instead of being an adult size it was turning out more like a size 5 girls! So in my hast I unravelled it and descided that I would turn it into a beanie for me!

So here you have it Le' Slouch Hat - which can be found over at Knit and Tonic. Next time I do it I will add more slouch - I knitted it as per the standard size but I think that I would like a little more pouf IYKWIM. I am enjoying knitting in the round at the moment and love the affect that you get with verigated wool (it just sort of looks right!)
Sorry about the scary eyes and please ignore the singlet (a little ironic really when you think that this time next week I will be back into jeans and long sleeved tops!) and the dirty mirror!
Pattern - Le' Slouch from Knit and Tonic
Yarn - SEAN SHEEP, Armytage 100% wool (Ruby Twist)
Needle size - size 5US and 6US Double Pointeds

Holiday Update

As most of you know Amelia and I are on holidays in sunny Queensland!

Amelia has been getting lots of cuddles from her Grandma and Grandpa and two sets of Great Grandparents (How lucky is she!)

I have also had the chance to do a little sewing and some knitting.

The reason for our visit was the celebrate the up and coming wedding of my cousin and his wife to be. It was a lovely night and the first time in 18 years that all of us cousins have been together! For the occasion I did a little sewing.

An outfit for Amelia. Made from a thrifted 1974 Simplicity pattern that I had to do a little moderfications to (the front of the top was not included so I had to draft my own!) Ingrid, notice the fabric of the top - it was the piece that you have me in our christmas swap. And a picture of the two of us

And this is the scarf that I have doing! It is so fluffy and warm and I can not wait to get back to Victoria so I can actually wear it and not be in a sweat!Moda Vera Wool - 100% tencil/acrylic
