Hello...

Pretty Flower...

Are you the one giving me hay fever at the moment?

The bugs...

and the bees seem to like you.

This week I am grateful for tissues with aloe vera, telfast and eucalyptus balls and to have a husband home and children that allowed me to have a sleep in on the first day of the holidays.

Hope that you are all having a great weekend.  Joining in with Maxabella.

My Creative Space...

There is lots of finishing happening in my space today.  Will share photos tomorrow - I put myself under the pump.

Tonight, I will be turning this into a Super Hero Girl Costume for a Spuer Hero Girl who goes by the name of 'Amazing Amelia'

Any tips on how to attatch this?

Hottie...

I was lucky (or quick enough) to be one of the first 20 people to comment on Cam's blog post and nab a spot in the Hottie Challenge.

Mine is finished and being Express Posted tonight to Melbourne with the hope (fingers crossed) that it will get to The Hottie Challenge/CurlyPops Headquarters before Thursday.

So here it is.  I had lots of fun doing this and thinking of what I was going to do.  I felted a thrifted vest that I picked up whilst opshopping last year (with the plans for big things)

Blanket Stitching and a  crochet flower, complete with original zip that doubles as it's opening.

This hottie is functional and hoping that it will keep someone warm on a cool night.

I am going to have to head back to the opshops and see if I can find another one so I can make one for us.

The Hottie Challenge is raising funds for The Margaret Pratt Foundation, which raises funds for Heart Lung Transplant Trust.

If you are in Melbourne, I would suggest getting yourself down to the opendraw between  Friday July 1 to Sunday July 24, 2011 to check them all out.  They are going to sold - fingers crossed someone likes mine to pay $$$ for it:)

A Birthday Apron

A little apron for one of Amelia's little friends 5th Birthday.

Amelia helped to choose the fabric (I was told "She is my friend, I will descide"  - What am I in for?)

I finished it off with a set of matching hair ties and a little bought baking kit.

I used this great tutorial and will have to make another one for Miss Amelia before the school holidays.

A little on the COOL side...

I know that you are all going to think that I am nuts.

Yes I do live in QLD, but we are experiencing a rather early and cool start to winter and yesterday had the coldest day in the capitals history since 1916.  What has happened to Global Warming I ask.

I went to pick Amelia up from school and her little lips were all shades of blue.  Our buildings and homes are not designed for this type of weather (it topped out at 12 degrees)

What was a Mum to do before she went to bed on Thursday night when she caught the weather report at 9.30pm reporting that we would be in for a weekend of rain and similar weather?  Sit and make her a blue beanie to wear of course.

The maroon one would have clashed with her blue uniform.

My Creative Space...

In my creative space this week is this bloom.  It is blooming.  It came with me yesterday while I waited for my brother and ferried him from appointment to appointment.

This was taken at the gardens.  And I downloaded the Hipstamatic on my iPhone and snapped this photo.  I think I might have lots of fun with this application.

Hope that you have managed to get a little crafty time in this week.  Thankyou to all the well wishes.  We are all slowly on the mend (although I think that the princess could have done with a few more days of Rest at home - but I sent her after the hour of tears that I endured when I told her that I was going to keep her at home, bless her)

For more crafty spaces, pop in and visit the new home of Our Creative Spaces.

yesterday...

we rested...

ironed (but not clothes)...

ate cake...

painted toes...

enjoyed the sun on our backs...

and I knitted...

as I watched the contents of the house make it's way into the backyard...

and finished up with a nice warm bath.
Just what the Dr ordered (ontop of the mountain of drugs that we are taking at different times of the day.  I almost need an alarm and personal assistant to keep on top of who needs what and when)

Another quiet day here today.  Shame there is still a few weeks left till the end of term.  I could get use to days like these.

Over half way there...

It is always time to celebrate when we hit that magic half way mark.

We are all sick though.  The big bad lurgy gremlin has been to visit and has left a smorgasbord of infection and a big Dr's and Chemist bill on his way through.

We will get there and before long will be waiting for a plane to arrive instead of leave.

Hoping that your weekend has been a healthy one.

My Creative Space = more Red...

There appears to be alot of red in my creative space at the moment.

This slipped off of the needles last week and is devine.

I am loving it and so is Amelia, I know that the time will come where she will not want to wear my knits, so I am going to continue the enjoyment of dressing her up while I can.

This is another new pattern release. This time it is Saffron by Elena (AKA Anadiomena on Ravlery)

It is a gorgeous cardigan featuring a rouched 'belt' and ribbon tie closure and looks lovely as a long sleeved version or short. I also have permission to knit this pattern for sale. So if you would like one of these hanging in your little miss' wardrobe for spring let me know.

This one is knitted in a cotton blend and will be perfect for popping on over a dress to keep the chill off or spinnining around the garden.
For more creative girls around the globe - grab yourself a cupp and enjoy the trip over at our creative spaces.

What I'm Wearing on this Winter Wednesday...

Wow,  June 1st already - where on earth is the year going?

I am thinking that I really need to get a few lists happening.  I really have to pull the sewing machine out and whip up a few pairs of pj's for the kids and I for starters and would love to start knitting for next winter for all of us.  Yes, I know that you all think that I am mad but we find out in a few weeks where we are heading next year and it is looking like south and this cold frog is going to need some more winter attire (I was pregnant and Breastfeeding last time so everything is stretched and not looking it's best or bought in 2003 and clearly fashion has changed since then)

I thought that I would join in with this Fancy Pants Mumma.  I often read and enjoy Brenda and Steph's posts but often wear the same thing each week and seriously you dont want to see me in the same pair of Jeans every week.

This week however I am sporting a new squishy cowl.  I did this as a test and it was meant to make it into the gift box in preparation for Christmas gifting, although you may notice that it did not make it.

I popped it on for a few photos and it has not come off all day.  I am in love and am keeping it.

It is the newest pattern by Amanda Keeys simply called Squishy Love and Squishy it is.  It is like having a hug that lasts all day.  The pattern comes in three sizes, I knitted the biggest of the sizes but only being a small frame it fits over my shoulders like an oversized cowl.

I teamed it with my jeans (target special - you dont need to see them do you) a pair of boots and a grey top.  I love the colour and will be making another one that will hopefully make it to the gift box and another for Amelia in the middle size for next year.

Have you heard of Me-Made-June???  It follows in the Me-Made-March footsteps but in June.  Thinking that I had until March 2012 to get my act together and have 30 items to wear and show of I will not be joining in.  I don't have enough warmer things to wear and show you as most of my knits are given away - sad isn't it, it is like the plumber, painter and builders house, we always miss out as are too busy doing things for others.

My aim is to have an item knitted for me by the end of June.  Let's see you I go (oh and it has got to have sleeves - although my feet are freezing and I really need a pair of slippers - now I said I was going to knit a pair of those this time last year too)

Ravelled and you can also see what it looks like on four girls of different ages and sizes.
